One of 'those' days...
Today was one of 'those' days! My day started off with my car being frozen over... no problem! Miss Prepared here had the de-icer spray ready to go. Sprayed windscreen. Hopped into car, only to discover that my windscreen was frozen over inside too! I have genuinely never seen that happen before. Cue 5 minutes of scraping it off with my Tesco clubcard 🙈
I made it to work just in time. I hate being rushed in the mornings as I feel it puts me on the back foot for the rest of the day.
I managed to drop an open container of glitter on my desk. I'm sure you all know how that stuff gets everywhere at the best of times, let alone having a whole tube spilled out over my laptop and notes!
At 11.30, it was time for the class's weekly cookery life skills lesson. This is usually a highlight of the week for me and the kids. It is something we all really enjoy doing together and look forward to. I was especially looking forward to using our new little oven.
I turned on the oven to heat up, then we started to assemble our pizzas. The boys were loving rolling out the dough, spreading the sauce and sprinkling the cheese. One boy, who is a really restrictive eater even tried a lick of the mozzarella cheese. Fantastic! I got some lovely photos to send to their parents. Brilliant!
All was going great until we all got a whiff of a really unpleasant smell... my freecycled oven had gone kaput, and had managed to trip all the sockets in the room! 🙄 Disaster!
I smiled through gritted teeth, and managed to quickly convince the boys that it would be so much fun to bring their uncooked pizzas home to finish off with Mammy! 🤣 Luckily they are all generally happy little guys, so were happy enough with this. Crisis averted!!!
It turned out that not only had I tripped the switch for the socket in my classroom, I had also made the sockets lose power in the classroom next door! Poor Ms. O'Neill was halfway through a brilliant lesson using her overhead projector and interactive whiteboard when she abruptly lost power! 🙈🙈🙈
You have to laugh!!! So, now I am having a well-deserved glass of something nice tucked up on the sofa. TFI Friday!!!
